Zambia Golf Union (ZGU) General Secretary Kelly Musanka through a circular directed to all club captains and ZGU affiliates, has encouraged the resumption of golfing activities following the national address by His Excellence Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia on 24th April, 2020 where the non contact sports were given a green light to resume their activities, on relief measures extended to certain social activities amidst the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

The ZGU Executive is pleased to announce the lifting of the ban on golfing activities with immediate effect,” stated the ZGU Secretary General, in the circular.

He added that clubs will only resume the golfing activities on condition that the public health guidelines are adhered to without any degree of compromise and directed all club captains to ensure that facilities are put in place to embrace this aspect.

’’This is on condition that the public health guidelines provided by relevant Authourities are adhered to without any degree of compromise and all club Captain are therefore implored to ensure that facilities are put in place to embrace this aspect. ”

The ZGU however assured the clubs and affiliates to keep them updated on any further development especially way forward for 2020 fixtures including the professional Golf events which are dependent on external factors.

The ZGU Secretary General reminded clubs and affiliates on the position to access other amenities of the club such as bars/and restaurants remains unchanged. He invited members to join the executive in conveying sincere gratitude to the Republic President on this gesture by ensuring that all the defined public health rules and regulations are complied with to the letter.
