The Zanaco Masters Golf Tournament has been oversubscribed with the number of golfers now reaching 156 from the initial 144 under the Sun Shine tour.

And organising Committee chairperson Roy Penney says over 70 amateurs will be competing for eight slots of the main tournament when they meet in the pre-qualifiers.

Zambia’s Madaliso Muthiya and Dean Moore are the only Zambians who have already made the cut for the main tournament.

Penny says the tournament has now become highly competitive as golfers from 21 countries will be competing.

And Penny has hailed the partnership with the National Broadcaster that will see ZNBC televise the tournament live.

He said this will enable millions of Zambians to follow proceedings on TV.
